A York woman accused of killing another woman in Florida was arrested over the weekend at her home.
Patty Michelle White, 40, of 301 Wilson Avenue in York is believed to have beaten and strangled to death 67-year-old Michele O'Dowd of Jacksonville, Fla., according to news reports. O'Dowd's twin brother found his sister in her Hodges Boulevard apartment Friday after she didn't show up for work.
Jacksonville Police investigated and followed leads to White, who had recently moved back to York, reports stated. White allegedly took O'Dowd's debit card to a few ATMs and withdrew cash, which were caught on camera.
York Chief Andy Robinson said Jacksonville officers arrived in York Friday. Local police had been watching White's home and initiated a traffic stop. York Police obtained a fugitive from justice warrant, he said. White is in Moss Justice Center awaiting extradition back to Florida.
